Many women would love to have naturally curly hair. Unfortunately, many of us have straight hair that just won’t hold in any position that we want it. That is why you need to learn how to use heated hair rollers. From the scientific side of things, we actually change the composition of the hair which allows it to curl and bend easily.

This process involves breaking down hydrogen bonds in the hair, however when the hair get’s any moisture, those bonds are fixed by the body’s natural functions. If we use an electric heated hair roller we can temporarily break those bonds, apply some spray, and have curly hair for most of the day. Professionals all around the world use heated hair rollers to give volume and curl to hair on high fashion models and regular people like you and I. In fact, the “hot curler” was made back in the mid 1960’s and has been used ever since.

I hate to mention brands but there are two that really take the cake when it comes to heated hair rollers. Conair’s Babyliss and the Remington ceramic rollers are perfect for anyone who styles their hair with a regular brush and blow dryer. Once they try it, they most certainly won’t go back to used the hairdryer brush method. Once you fix your hair in the morning, you can take some rollers with you for later in the day if you happen to need a fix up. We use to have to mess around with hair pins but that is now a past event as we now use Velcro to help hold things together.

When buying for first electric hair roller you will want to make sure that you read the instructions. However, if you decide to skip them you won’t have a hard time figuring out how to use it. Basically you plug the tray in to an electrical socket and it heats up the rollers that contact you hair. There is always a small light that either turns on or off depending if they are ready to be used. I like to start at the end of my hair to roll and curl my hair back towards my scalp. Once you have rolled it up all the way, you can simply use a pin or Velcro to secure it in place. Once the heated hair rollers have cooled down, you can remove them from your hair.

Now you may think that it is better and much easier just to use a curling iron. The problem is that a curling iron won’t give your hair an all day curl. In fact, many women will use a curling iron only to have their curls disappear an hour later.

Usually it takes about 10-15 minutes for the heated hair rollers to get hot. Once you have got them tied up in your hair, it is only a matter of waiting another 10-15 minutes while you apply your makeup or eat breakfast. Just remember that there are many types, shapes, and sizes of heated hair rollers so you will need to find one that fits your particular hair styling need.
